ABOUT US
OUR PROVIDERS
Sarah Ansbro M.D MBA
As a native Texan with Mexican heritage, I am deeply honored to serve my hometown community of San Antonio. I completed my medical education at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by residency training at the University of South Florida. Throughout my academic career, I contributed to medical research through a couple published papers while maintaining my commitment to teaching and mentoring future healthcare professionals.
My practice is shaped by two core passions. I am dedicated to providing comprehensive care to our LGBTQIA+ community, including specialized gender-affirming services—a commitment recognized through two Chamber Champion awards from the San Antonio LGBT Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, I believe in bridging traditional medicine with holistic approaches. By integrating evidence-based allopathic medicine and psychotherapeutic techniques with practices such as meditation, Barnes myofascial release, and reiki, I strive to offer a truly personalized healing experience that resonates with each patient’s individual needs.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy Kriya yoga meditations, formation skydiving, fitness, culinary arts, crochet, and science fiction.

Her work is driven by a deep commitment to helping people achieve greater functionality in their daily lives, fostering healing in mind, body, and spirit.
Guided by compassion and a holistic approach to wellness, Monique is passionate about empowering individuals to overcome challenges, rebuild their lives, and find peace and balance.
Jessica N. Casey, PHMNP
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and proud graduate of the University of Missouri, I am dedicated to supporting you on your mental health journey. Your decision to prioritize your wellbeing is a significant step, and I am honored to be part of your path forward.
Though not a native Texan, I have developed deep roots in our community, with a particular passion for serving LGBTQIA individuals. My approach combines both Western and Eastern therapeutic modalities, understanding that mental health care is not one-size-fits-all. I believe in working collaboratively with my patients to find the perfect balance of treatments that align with their unique needs and goals.
When not in practice, you’ll find me surrounded by my beloved rescue animals – my three cats (Baba Yaga, Bruja, and Benadryl) and two dogs (Pebbles and Madam Lady) – or tending to my ever-expanding collection of plants. These simple joys remind me daily of the healing power of connection and care.
Crystal D. Payne, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Originally from West Texas, Crystal is a proud mom of three adult children and two spoiled dachshunds. She enjoys baking and traveling with her spouse Rhonda, a dedicated Air Force veteran. With over 15 years of nursing experience, Crystal is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a deep commitment to mental health. She has extensive experience working with adolescents and veterans, particularly those coping with PTSD, and began her career as an ER nurse.
Crystal is passionate about providing compassionate care and is especially dedicated to serving and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. She believes in empowering her patients through understanding, empathy, and a holistic approach to healing. Whether at home, in the clinic, or traveling with her family, Crystal is committed to connection, growth, and well-being.

Originally from Michigan, I’ve made Texas my home for the past four years. My professional journey is driven by a deep-seated passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives and actively contributing to my community.
At Cantera, I play a critical role in patient care coordination. My responsibilities include managing prior authorizations, resolving medication issues, processing medical record requests, and overseeing specialized treatments like TMS and Spravato. With unwavering dedication, I approach each moment of my workday with the goal of facilitating comprehensive and compassionate care for all our patients who put their trust in us.
Beyond my professional life, I’m an enthusiastic reader and writer who loves diving into storytelling through both literature and tabletop role-playing games with my friends and loved ones. My love for music is equally passionate, and I seize every opportunity to experience live concerts.
My professional ethos is centered on a simple yet important mission: to support every individual who walks through our doors in navigating towards a brighter, healthier future.
Danna Posada
As a native of the Rio Grande Valley and the youngest of four siblings, I bring a rich cultural background to my role in mental health care. My academic journey led me to earn a B.A. in Psychology complemented by a minor in Studio Art with a focus in Painting, reflecting my belief in both the scientific and creative aspects of human wellness.
Being bilingual in English and Spanish allows me to serve our diverse community more effectively, ensuring that language never becomes a barrier to quality mental health care. San Antonio has been my home for nearly two years, where I’ve settled with my partner and our three beloved cats, Tito, Julio and Ryuu.
Beyond my professional life, I find joy in life’s enriching experiences – from losing myself in a good book and experiencing the energy of live concerts to enjoying quality shows and cherishing moments with family and friends. When you’re ready to begin or continue your mental health journey, I’m here to support you with understanding and dedication.
